Hi there! I’m Genny, and I’m a lover of beautiful moments, detailed plans, and making sure your wedding day is everything you’ve dreamed of (without the stress)! I’m an Ottawa Wedding Coordinator here to ensure that your special day goes smoothly, leaving you and your guests to enjoy every second, instead of worrying about logistics behind the scenes.

A little about me: I planned my own wedding here in Ottawa and thought I could do it all—until a few weeks before, when I realized, “hey, I’m the bride, and I can’t exactly coordinate my own wedding while standing at the altar and cutting our wedding cake!” In a state of semi-panic, I also quickly realized that everyone we would have asked to step into the role on the day of was invited to our wedding. We wanted our loved ones to enjoy the celebration instead of coordinating it – enter the wedding coordinator.
Having a wedding coordinator took such a weight off our shoulders. It gave us peace of mind knowing someone was there to handle everything, so we could just focus on being in the moment.
My journey into wedding coordination began with an Event Management course at Algonquin (Ottawa) and then helping plan both of my sisters’ weddings, as well as countless family and friends’ events. Those early experiences taught me how to juggle timelines, anticipate the little details that make a big difference, and keep everything running smoothly.
In late 2024, I officially launched oak + apple, and since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a number of wonderful clients, helping bring their unique visions to life. From intimate gatherings to large celebrations, I’ve honed my ability to ensure every aspect of your day unfolds seamlessly.

Where I am now
I am in my early 30s, living in Ottawa with my two sons, husband, and two dogs. In my day to day, I work a fulfilling corporate job in mental health and wellness programming. I love to read, cook, bake, research, plan (anything and everything), decorate our home, be creative, watch TV, and be outside.
My life is settling, my kids are growing, and I’m looking to do more things that spark my passion, this is why I’ve decided to offer wedding coordination and decorating services.
It gives me the opportunity to apply skills and interests that I’ve developed in my personal and professional lives in a new and exciting domain!
